Alex Bertulis-Fernandes and Sharlin Jahan are two stand-ups who happen to be brown women.

They’ve performed to sold-out audiences at the VAULT Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe.

Alex Bertulis-Fernandes was a So You Think You’re Funny? Semi-Finalist (2021) and a 2Northdown New Act Semi-Finalist (2020). Alex has written for The Now Show and Breaking the News, and was praised by BBC Radio 4’s Commissioning Editor of Comedy for having ‘so many good lines’ and ‘a really great performing style’.

Sharlin Jahan was a BBC New Comedy Award Nominee (2021) and Bath New Act Runner-up (2021). Sharlin has featured on BBC Radio London, and been described as ‘undeniably impressive’ by Ed Fringe Review, with a ‘unique perspective’.
