When Elliot woke up today, he was 16 again. He doesn’t recognize himself or his life in Hove. Because when we went to sleep, he was just an emo kids from Decatur, Illinois. He can’t believe what he’s become. He has to face the music – but all he wants to do is lock himself in his room and listen to Dashboard Confessional.

A debut character work-in-progress from award-nominated comedian and actor Derek Mitchell. A regular on the London comedy circuit and in the Netherlands, he most recently appeared in the third series of Ted Lasso on Apple+. He was a 2023 Leicester Square Sketch Off Finalist. His character sketches have amassed a dedicated following online. Derek is one half of sketch duo Horseplay.
